Psychiatrist · Psychotherapist
About Me
I’m Anna Martynenko, a licensed psychiatrist and psychotherapist.
I work with people who are going through difficult inner experiences — anxiety, emotional overwhelm, loss of direction, life crises, or the effects of past trauma.
In therapy, what matters most to me is not a diagnosis, but the person. Your story, your experiences, and what you are facing right now.
Together, we create a space where you can slow down, understand what is happening inside, and find a way forward.
✔ I work with care and attention, respecting your personal pace — especially when the issues are complex or long-standing.
✔ Therapy is a gradual process. You don’t have to go through it alone.
✔ I’m here to support you as you reconnect with your inner stability, clarity, and sense of wholeness.
People come to therapy with many different concerns. Some of the most common include:
• Anxiety and panic attacks• Fears and phobias• Psychosomatic symptoms• Emotional trauma• Relationship and family difficulties• Mental health disorders• Career and life direction crises
Therapeutic Approaches:
In my work I integrate several therapeutic approaches. This allows us to address not only symptoms, but also the deeper causes behind emotional difficulties.
Process-Oriented Therapy
A therapeutic approach that helps explore inner conflicts, emotional processes, and life crises.
Systemic Family Psychotherapy
A method that focuses on relationships, family dynamics, and patterns that influence our lives.
It can be used in both individual and couples therapy.
Brainspotting
A powerful method for processing trauma and deeply stored emotional experiences that may be difficult to express in words.
Medication in Therapy:
Medication can sometimes be an important support in the therapeutic process. However, I prescribe medication only when it is truly necessary.
Every treatment decision:
is clinically justified
is discussed with you in detail
has clear goals and timeframes
It is important to me that you understand what we are doing and why.
Medication should support therapy — not replace the deeper process of change.
I am a licensed physician certified by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, with 19 years of medical experience, including 8 years specializing in psychiatry.
I am a certified Brainspotting practitioner, having completed official international training (Phase 1, Phase 2, and specialization in working with children and adolescents) with Brainspotting Training, Inc. under the supervision of the method’s founder David Grand, PhD.
I also completed a certified training program in Process-Oriented Psychology at the International Center of Process Work in Kyiv.
I continuously develop my professional skills in accordance with international standards of modern psychotherapy and psychiatry.
How Therapy Works:
My approach is focused on meaningful results, not therapy for the sake of the process.
Initial Consultation
The first session is a space for us to explore your concerns together. During this meeting we clarify what is happening in your situation and determine the most helpful direction for the work ahead. Often, the first session itself can bring significant clarity and relief.
Duration: 60–90 minutes
Fee: 100$
Therapy Sessions
Therapy can be short-term or longer-term depending on your goals, the nature of the issue, and the depth of the work required. My aim is not to keep you in therapy longer than necessary, but to help you resolve your concerns as effectively as possible. Sometimes meaningful change can happen in just a few sessions. In other cases, the process may take more time. Either way, the work continues only as long as it is genuinely helpful for you.
Session length: 1–3 hours depending on the formatFee: 100$ per hour
I do not work with rigid templates or artificially prolong therapy.
What matters most to me is that you experience real internal change, not just temporary relief.
If something important emerges during a session, I will not abruptly end the conversation simply because the scheduled time has passed. At the same time, I do not support avoidance or therapy that continues for years without real progress.

Honest and Transformational Work
Therapy with me is not always easy — and it isn’t meant to be. Real change often requires us to look honestly at the patterns, beliefs, and stories we have been living with for years. Sometimes this can feel challenging. But it is also where genuine transformation begins!
This work may be especially valuable if you are ready to:
look honestly at what is happening in your life
take responsibility for your choices and direction
break repetitive patterns and move toward meaningful change
Individual therapy
Couples therapy
Support for teenagers in crisis

Frequently Asked Questions
Therapy often raises many questions.
Here are answers to some of the most common ones.
• What happens during the first session?
During our first meeting, I listen carefully to your concerns and help clarify the main difficulties you are experiencing. If needed, we may also use diagnostic tools to better understand your situation. Based on this, we create an individual therapy plan.
• How long does a session last?
A typical session lasts about one hour. In some situations, the session may extend slightly without additional cost, though this is not the usual format. If deeper work is needed, we can schedule a longer session (1.5–3 hours) in advance.
• Does the therapeutic method affect session length?
Yes. Some methods — particularly systemic therapy and Brainspotting — often require 1.5–2 hours for effective work. I will always discuss this with you beforehand.
• Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of my work. Everything you share in therapy remains strictly private.
• Can I pay for multiple sessions in advance?
Yes. You can either pay for each session individually or pay in advance and schedule several sessions at once.
• What if therapy doesn’t seem to be working?
Therapy is a collaborative process. I regularly monitor the progress of our work together. If you feel that the process is not bringing the results you hoped for, we will discuss it openly and adjust the approach if necessary.
